I was so ecstatic to have 2 of my quilts showcased at the San Mateo County Fair recently. I have never entered my quilts into a contest or show before and I sure was beaming with pride to see mine hanging amongst all the other talent. The first quilt is a Mountains quilt created using triangles and various color fat quarters. It was a challenge to assemble, but the final result was worth it. Quilted with a varigated thread in a swirl pattern, both of which really complimented the colors and style of the quilt. The second quilt was a king size Warriors Tshirt quilt I created for my boss' husband. The shirt were set in a mosaic style and additional Warriors print fabric was added. This one was quilted with yellow thread in a basketball pattern.
Having this experience and really studying all the talented quilters that were showcased was very inspiring. There will definitely be some contests and shows in my future...well at least the County Fair next year!
